Post Script

What is the longest baseball home run ever?

(Yes this is not something that I would typically know, but it may be something that only my brother knows the answer to...)

Well, according to Guinness, the record is held by Mickey Mantle, who, on Sept. 10, 1960 (I was 2), hit one 634 Ft. in a game against Detroit.

The Longest Homer at Turner Field was Sammy Sosa on Sept. 1, 2001. He hit a center field blast 471 feet. This season Adam LaRoche already hit one 464 feet.

The longest at Minute Maid Park was a few years ago when Sosa hit one that hit the LIGHTS in left center field. The LIGHTS. Like "The Natural" or something. I'll have to look up how long they estimated that to be, but the lights are at least 400 feet from the plate and 150 feet up in the air. Crazy.
